Nocatee named one of nation’s fastest-growing communitiesBack to News
While Nocatee has long dominated local new-home sales, new
statistics show it is among the most popular master-planned
communities (MPCs) nationwide. Among 136 MPCs across the country,
Nocatee ranked 14th for 2011 sales according to a
national study. In North Florida, it was the top seller by a wide
margin.
John Burns Real Estate Consulting analyzed the sales numbers of
the top MPCs nationwide for its annual study. The 136 MPCs
represented nearly 24,000 sales during 2011, numbers for the 50
top-selling U.S. MPCs are listed on the firm's blog at www.realestateconsulting.com/blog.
With 313 sales in 2011, Nocatee nearly doubled its sales over
the previous year. In all, 10 different builders added homes across
seven Nocatee communities. The growth trend is not new-in 2010
Nocatee was Northeast Florida's fastest-growing community, with
homebuilders starting construction on 189 new homes, 55 percent
more than any other local community.
"Over the past several years, we continued to invest in the
community," said Rick Ray, Managing Partner of the PARC Group,
Nocatee's master developer. "The amenities are in place,
neighborhoods are growing, and the builders are stepping up to meet
the demand for new homes."
Nocatee's $200 million road network was completed last
December-almost a decade earlier than anticipated. Other major
projects have included the Nocatee Splash Water Park, the Community
Park and the Nocatee Town Center. Just recently the developer
completed the community's second park, Greenleaf Park, located
adjacent to the Greenleaf Village neighborhood.
Nearly 1,000 families now call Nocatee home. The community
features seven neighborhoods-Austin Park, Coastal Oaks, Greenleaf
Village, Kelly Pointe, Riverwood, Tidewater, and Willowcove-with
plans under way to start two new neighborhoods in 2012 and two more
in 2013. Existing neighborhoods will also grow, with new
construction phases beginning in two neighborhoods this year.
