Nocatee Hosts Tree LightingBack to News
Nocatee will open their Christmas season this Friday,
December 2nd with an annual Christmas festival and tree
lighting event called Nocatee a-Glow. Nocatee residents and area
guests are welcome to enjoy this holiday favorite which begins at
5:30 pm. Admission is free and the tree lighting will take place at
6pm.
The Nocatee a-Glow event will include a multitude of
lighted trees throughout the Nocatee water park, a horse drawn
hayride, live music performed by the 100 member Landrum Middle
School Band, as well as Christmas carols performed by Crosswater
Church. In addition, there will be plenty of crafts and activities
for the smaller children including an inflatable winter wonderland,
letter writing to Santa Claus with the opportunity for children to
hand there letters to St. Nick personally. Hot chocolate and snacks
will be served throughout the evening.
The Nocatee a-Glow event is an official Toys for Tots drop
off location. Two US Marine service men will be present to
personally collect the toys for children in need. Only new,
unwrapped toys will be accepted.
Nocatee will once again be an official mail drop location
for Santa Claus. After the event, Santa's Mailbox will be located
in the Nocatee Welcome Center located at Splash Water Park.
Everyone is welcome to stop by between 10 am and 5 pm to drop their
letters off for delivery to the North Pole. Santa's Mailbox will
remain on site until December 23rd.
