Nocatee has best sales year in 2010Back to News
With more homes sold last year than in any year previously ,
Nocatee experienced its best sales year ever in 2010. The Ponte
Vedra community offers a private and secluded lifestyle, unrivaled
amenities and quick access to St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach and
Jacksonville - great perks for the almost 700 families now living
there.
One of the biggest milestones for the community was the opening
of Nocatee Splash Water Park in February of last year. The
signature, interactive amenity includes a water park with an
impressive slide tower, lagoon pool, lazy river, interactive
sprayground area and an open-air event lawn along with a two-story
clubhouse with a banquet room and conference center located by an
expansive fitness center.
The amenity center has been heralded by a number of residents as
one of the many reasons they moved to the community, including
empty nesters Ilene and Bob Thrasher, who moved from Maryland. "We
moved to Nocatee in November. We loved the convenience of the whole
development. It's easy to get around, it's beautiful, it's quiet
and we love the facilities that are available to us," said Ilene
Thrasher. "We also enjoy having the shopping center so close by. We
just love it. It feels very private. We feel we're away from
everything in the world yet we're minutes from everything."
After looking in the St. Augustine area for a while and renting
a condo for a few months, they found their dream home, built by
David Weekley Homes. "When we saw the house, we knew it was the
one," said Thrasher. "We found the people to be very nice when we
went to the Nocatee Welcome Center. We worked with an agent and
when we came back and looked at houses, we knew we wanted to live
here."
Tatia and Jeff Ryan also moved to Willowcove at Nocatee in
November with their children Payton (10), Logan (six) and Kendyl
(five.) Before relocating from Orlando, the family also looked at
neighboring communities.
"We like Nocatee's location and closeness to the beach, along
with the growth potential, new homes and the schools," said Tatia
Ryan. "Other reasons included the amenity center, the people and
the service from our builder."
Not surprisingly, the children's favorite amenity is Nocatee
Splash Water Park. The Ryans say they would definitely recommend
Nocatee to others and find it to be a very family-friendly
community.
Nocatee offers several neighborhoods with single-family homes,
maintenance-free homes and condominiums priced from the high $100s
to more than $1 million. The community's newest neighborhood,
Greenleaf Village, features single-family homes priced from the
$170s by David Weekley, Providence, Rylandand Mattamy.
Nocatee's master developer, The PARC Group, is also designing
two new communities in Town Center with homes priced from the
mid-$100s to the high $200s. Development on these new neighborhoods
is scheduled to get underway this summer.
Other Nocatee communities include Austin Park with homes priced
from the $200s by Cornerstone Homes, Taylor Morrison and Mattamy;
Kelly Pointe, a quaint neighborhood nestled to the north with homes
by David Weekley and Richmond American priced in the $200s;
Willowcove at Nocatee, a neighborhood featuring single-family homes
priced from the $250s to the $450s by Lennar and David Weekley;
Toll Brothers' gated Coastal Oaks neighborhood with luxury
single-family estate homes, neo-traditional homes, townhomes and
village homes priced from the low $300s; and Riverwood, a
resort-inspired Del Webb active adult community with single-family
detached homes, condominiums and townhomes from the high $100s.
The neighborhoods are enveloped by the Nocatee Greenway, a
preservation area of more than 5,000 acres of
environmentally-sensitive land. The community's Greenway Trails
link all of the neighborhoods to parks, common areas, the
Nocatee Splash Water Park and Nocatee Town Center.
The interconnecting Greenway Trail System includes miles of
multi-use pathways and bridges that meander throughout wetlands.
The path's first phase is three miles long, with additional phases
in the works.
In 2010, St. Johns County opened the trails within the Nocatee
Preserve, 2,400 acres of environmentally sensitive lands donated to
the county by the community's developer. The Preserve stretches
three and one-half miles along the Intracoastal Waterway, and is
available for all St. Johns County residents to enjoy.
The PARC Group recently completed Nocatee's initial electric
cart network, making it the only community that offers electric
carts such as golf carts and other electrically-powered, low-speed
vehicles as an alternate form of transportation throughout the
entire community.
