Mattamy was started and is still run by one man, Peter Gilgan. He named the company after his two oldest children, Matt and Amy. There are 8 children in the family so Peter really understands what makes a family home great. He understands how interior space should be used and how a home should 'feel'---safe, warm and happy.

As a company, Mattamy believes that satisfying the needs of homeowners is the single most important factor in building new homes and communities. The company has earned numerous awards for customer satisfaction, including several top rankings in the J.D. Power survey for customer satisfaction.
