(Ponte Vedra, FL – March 5, 2008) The PARC Group, master developer of Nocatee celebrate completion of new roadways with the town’s first community event, The Nocatee Trailblazer 5K Run and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run.
Hundreds of Northeast Florida’s local runners showed up for the Inaugural Nocatee Trailblazer Run on what turned out to be a gorgeous, early-spring morning, runners and participants couldn’t have hoped for a better day to enjoy in the festivities.
“We had a great turn out for our first community event” said Portland Stuart, Marketing Director of the PARC group. “In addition to the many runners who came from various areas of Northeast Florida we had many Nocatee residents who road their bicycles, walked up pushing strollers, even brought the family dog down to the roundabout to join in the fun.”
Beginning at the TownCenter roundabout at Crosswater and Preservation Trail, the runners traveled north then south on Crosswater Parkway finishing again at the roundabout intersection. The first to cross the finish line were Jason Arnold at 17:31 and Kim Pawelek at 17:34. Pawelek plans to try out for the US Olympic Marathon Team at the Boston Marathon. “We planned the event one week before the River Run knowing it would serve as a final warm up for area runners” said Stuart. “In coming years we will incorporate other features of Nocatee into the run as they evolve including the Greenway Trial System and the streets of Town Center.”
The Nocatee Trailblazer Run is the first of many events planned in Nocatee for 2008 for more information on upcoming events visit
