JACKSONVILLE, FL, October 23, 2006 – The PARC Group, the master developer of the Town of Nocatee, has announced its plans for a resort-style aquatics center that will serve as a major recreational amenity for the residents of Nocatee. “We are very excited to introduce our plans for the Aquatics Park,” said Richard T. Ray, partner with The PARC Group. It is the only water park of its kind in North Florida and will offer water features for both excitement and relaxation.”
The Aquatics Park, designed by Ervin Lovett & Miller of Jacksonville, is themed in “Florida Classical” architecture and will include separate pools for families and adults and a junior Olympic pool for competitions. There will also be a water spray ground for children. The park will also boast a 52’ tower, the highest in Northeast Florida, with two water slides. The park will also feature a “lazy river” for a leisurely ride in a gentle current around cascading waterfalls and a whirlpool. The Nocatee Aquatics Park is planned as a central component of the 75-acre community park in Nocatee’s Town Center. Construction on the Aquatics Park is scheduled to begin next year with families enjoying the park in the spring of 2009. Nocatee’s first communities are being built by Toll Brothers, Del Webb, Cornerstone, Centex and Pulte, and several have recently started pre-selling homes.
